Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long is a therapy session? How often do we meet?

A typical session is 50 minutes long, once per week. We can also meet more than once a week if needed. I offer check-in’s between sessions as needed as well (anything longer than 10 minutes will be charged a prorated cost). I suggest to new clients to commit to 3-6 months of therapy weekly at a minimum before seeing real change. Some people like to stay in therapy for the long term as they see the positive effects it has on their lives.

  • How much does therapy cost?

Currently my rate is set at $185 per session for individuals and $210 for couples and families. I do not work with insurance, which means I’m considered out-of-network. Some insurance plans will reimburse you for some or all of the cost depending on your plan. I can offer you what’s called a superbill, or invoice of all our sessions with the amount you’ve paid, which you can then send to your insurance company. They will then reimburse you directly.

  • Do you offer sliding scale?

I hold a number of slots for people needing sliding scale. This rate will depend on income, savings, other expenses, and what you feel you can comfortably afford weekly.

  • Can i use my eap, FSA, or HSA account?

Yes, many of my clients use one of these accounts to pay for therapy.

  • How do I get started?

When you’re ready to book a session, head over to the Book A Session page to schedule either a free 20 minute consultation call with me or first full session.

  • What happens if I’m sick or can’t make it to session?

My cancellation policy holds that 48 hour advance notice is required if you need to miss your session for any reason, otherwise I have to charge the full fee. This stands even in the case of last minute illness, an emergency, etc.
